Posted September 03, 2021Hello
This is East Hanover Mayor Joe Pannullo with a special public service announcement.
East Hanover Township continues to monitor our streets throughout Town because of the recent storm. This is the latest up to date information as of 1:00 p.m. this afternoon:
The following roads are closed due to the Passaic and Whippany rivers overflowing its riverbanks:
- Eagle Rock Avenue after the bridge heading to Roseland
- River Road is closed from the Eagle Rock to Overlook Road.
- Troy Road is closed at both bridges.
- New Road in Parsippany is closed.
Stymus Lane, Balsam Road, and Callahan Street are beginning to flood as the Whippany River crests.
Keep in mind the Passaic River is scheduled to crest this evening.
If you live in a low-lying area near these rivers, please be mindful to move your cars to higher ground.
If you need assistance to get somewhere please call the non-emergency phone number at Police headquarters, 973-887 0432.If you have an emergency always call 911.
We do have approximately 20 homes experiencing power outages and those residents are welcome to utilize our Police Headquarters Lobby as a charging station. It is anticipated the power will be back on by early evening.
As a reminder for some safety protocols, we should all adhere to:

DO NOT touch any down or low hanging wires.
